Some Guys Have All the Luck!
Morris showed up last December 4th in our neighbourhood. I listened to him cry for 2 solid nights and on the 3rd night I couldn’t take it anymore. He was losing his voice and sounding so pathetic I had to investigate. So at 4am I wandered down with a can of food for the poor distressed kitty. I found Morris. He had obviously been abandoned and was beside himself with grief. I fed him the can and gave him some lovin’ but all he wanted was to follow me back inside my condo. He was obviously somebody’s cat and they kicked him to the curb. A common misconception here is that an animal can survive on the streets. Now this may be true if they are born and raised there, but not when the animal has been an inside cat since kittenhood. He lived outside until April 7th when he moved in with me and
my 2 cats. He had lost a good deal of his fur and was covered in fleas and sores. Luckily for him the neighbours fed him twice a day and gave him lots of love and petting. But his luck really changed on the day when a lady venturing here on vacation from Texas volunteered to pay for his ticket back home with her! He left yesterday. Of course I cried as he won my heart but I know he is definitely one of the lucky ones. I do not know which life Morris is onto now or what his original name even was, but I do know he is receiving love and is inside where he wants to be.
